CLARENCE ALLAN BIEN

September 28, 1916 August 25, 2008

It is with great sadness that the family of CLARENCE BIEN announces his passing. Clarence passed away peacefully in hospital at the age of 91 years.  He was predeceased by his wife, Pansy; his parents, William and Carolina Bien; a sister Leona; and brothers, Herbert, Robert, and Roy. Clarence will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Evelee (Paul) Wenaas of Moose Jaw, Daryll (Diane) of Calgary, Shirley (Les) Pederson of Calgary, and Allen (Marilyn) of Regina; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Clarence and Pansy were married in 1940, and enjoyed 64 years of life together.  He was a devoted and loving husband and father.  Clarence was a devout Christian, and was very involved in Church work over the years.  His favourite pastimes included singing with a barbershop group, gardening, and in later years, playing horseshoes and shuffleboard at the senior’s centre.  Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday August 28, 2008 at 1:30 pm.  Eric Nyrose will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will take place Wednesday evening 7 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to: Western Christian College, 100 – 4400 Fourth Ave., Regina, S4T 0H8.  In living memory of Clarence, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Sheila Leahy - Moose Jaw, Sk. : I remember both Clarence and Pansy when I worked at St. Andrew's as the caretaker. They use to come to play shuffleboard there.  They would always stop to chat for a few minutes. Pansy would always tell a little joke and Clarence seemed like a quiet gentle soul.  I would like to send my deepest sympathy to the family.  I am sure you have many wonderful memories.

Don, Dianne Thompson & families - Saskatoon Sk.: Evelee, Daryll, Shirley, Allen & families Our most sincere sympathy on the loss of your dad. May he rest in peace with Aunt Pansy. God will give you the strength to get through this difficult time. It is so hard to believe that we have now lost that entire generation of the "Bien Family".  Your dad's singing was such a joy to listen to. Your parents were always so kind to me when we visited. I shall remember them. We are so very sad that we are not able to attend this service. Mom cannot make that trip now either. Our Love
