DOROTHY DEVLIN

Dorothy Elizabeth Devlin, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away peacefully on June 17, 2008 in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 96. She was predeceased in 2006 by her husband of 60 years, George Devlin. She is survived by her daughter Mary ( Roy ) Shewchuk, and three granddaughters: Tasha (Rick) Tams, Mandy (Scott) Wojtowicz – all of Taber, Alberta and Krissy (Greg) McKenzie of Chicago, Illinois.  She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 2 pm in St.Andrew's United Church Chapel where she was actively involved throughout her life.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. WE LOVE YOU MOM! GOD BLESS YOU! In living memory of Dorothy, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Sandra Lister Hamon - Moose Jaw, Sask.: Mary and family...please except the condolences of the Lister family in Moose Jaw, on the loss of both your mom, and of your dad in 06. I admired your mom so much for the work she did with the intellectually challenged. I was recently in your old home on 1st Ave. It is so beautifully decorated, and well maintained. But to me it will always be 'Devlin's house'. Take care.

Marj Thomson Hewitt - Victoria/BC: Mary and Family, I was saddened to see that your Mom has gone.  She was a very lovely lady and a great neighbor.  I remember she asked me to stay at the camp in her stead with the John Chisholm girls, when I was graduating from Grade 12.  That was certainly a very interesting and very challenging few days for me.  That she worked full time with those children is a true testament to what a wonderful person she was.  She lived a very long life but I am sure you will all miss her immensely.  You are in my thoughts and prayers, and "see" her reunited with George; with Tony, Shortie, Joey, and Brutus  yipping at their heels!
