RUTH ELLIS

September 21, 1941 - June 19, 2008

Our beloved Ruth died peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Ross (Pat), Jim (Betty), her sisters Margot (Dennis), Lucille (Larry), all her nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and her Special Aunt Ruth, all of whom she dearly cherished. She was predeceased by her parents Austin and Kay Ellis and her brother, Ron.  Ruth was loved by many, especially her friends of many years at Pioneer Village. Ruth was known for her acts of kindness and generosity, and her gentle caring manner for all mankind. She loved to play cards, cribbage and a good game of Scrabble. Chocolates were her very favourite treat. Her affectionate smile would instantly light up a room. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses on units 3D  and 4B at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina for their caring and compassion during this difficult time.  A very special thank you to the dedicated staff at Pioneer Village for their many years of loving care. Thank you to everyone that touched Ruth's life and made it a better place for her. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Moose Jaw on Monday June 30, 2008.  Linda Owens will officiate. In living memory of Ruth, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Colleen Riley (Jones) - Regina, SK: Margot, Lucille, Ross, Jim and families: During Ruth's stay at Pioneer Village I have many opportunities to visit with her.  She loved to tell me when one of you had called or come to visit or taken her out.  She was very proud of her family. I will miss the big smile that she always had for me. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Leigh Landry (Gower) - Regina, SK: Margot and the Ellis Family, It has been a few years since I was Ruth's Social Worker at Pioneer but I have thought about her many many times. Ruth is not someone who is easily forgotten. Ruth and I spent a lot of time together and all are memorable. I will always remember her love of jewelry and clothes. It was so important to her to have nice clothes which she did. Ruth and I shared many laughs and frustrations through her selling of Avon and Regal. Ruth was a woman with a big heart who loved many. Margot, she so looked forward to your visits and your calls (I also enjoyed the visits). She was proud to have you as a sister and to be your sister. My thoughts are with you all. Ruth will be missed. Sincerely, Leigh

Jean Hamilton Low - Monroe, Louisiana: Ross, Margot, Lucille, Jim and families. My deepest sympathy at your loss of a sister. Ruth was the cousin nearest to me in age and though we haven't seen much of each other in recent years, we were very, very close as children and I am so grieved at her death. Thanks to everyone who was close to and with Ruth towards the end.

Roberta Ireland (Moore) - Dartmouth, NS: My condolences to the Ellis family at this time of loss.  I remember such fun times at your cabin at 'the Lake' so many years ago.  May you cherish your memories.
