ELLEN ESMOND

Ellen Elizabeth Esmond of Tugaske, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the Weyburn Special Care Home Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the age of 91 years. Ellen was born in Bridgeford, Saskatchewan on June 4, 1917. She married Arthur Esmond in 1937. They farmed, raised animals, painted many of the homes in Tugaske and surrounding area, and were both janitors at the Eyebrow School from 1975-1982. They retired from farming in 1971. Ellen resided in their home in Tugaske until May 2008 when she moved to the Weyburn Special Care Home. Ellen is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Wayne (Sandra), Ron (Judy), Don, Doreen Langton, Lauretta (Bill) Gooding, Perry (Wendy); sisters Josephine Larsen, Freda (Walter) Manz, Alice (Gordon) McGowan; brother Victor Larsen; sister-in-law Violet Buchanan and numerous grandchildren of three generations, nieces, nephews and friends. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Arthur Esmond; parents Laurits and Violet Larsen; sisters Rose Sjodin and Beatrice Mayer; brother Archie Larsen; grandson Colin Arthur Langton; sisters-in-law Daisy Fritshaw ; brothers-in-law Len Manz, Elmer Sjodin and Benny Buchanan. The Funeral Service will be held at the Tugaske Community Hall on Thursday September 25, 2008 at 2:00 pm.  Reverend Rick McCorrister will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Tugaske Cemetery.  Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one's choice would be appreciated.  In living memory of Ellen, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
