FREDA HIBBARD

MRS. FREDA HIBBARD, age 79 years of Regina passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008.  She was born June 5, 1929 in Russia and came to Canada settling in the Claybank/Spring Valley district. Freda grew up on the family farm and received her schooling in Spring Valley.  She married Hugh Hanover and they resided in Moose Jaw where Freda worked as a Ward Clerk at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.  Following Hugh’s passing, she went to Arizona for the winter where she met and later married Vern Hibbard.  They resided Moose Jaw, Vernon, B.C., and finally settling in Regina. Freda loved to travel, play cards, dance and the Toronto Blue Jays.  Predeceased by her parents and her husband, Hugh – 1980, Freda is survived by husband Vern, son, Sid (Tracy); grandchildren: Kevin (Jessica) and Kristy (Wally); brothers: Emmanuel and Leo (Mary); sisters: Connie and Augusta; Vern’s family: Glen (Sharon) and family, and Wanda (Bill), as well as nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11a.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina.  Karen Ziegler will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials for the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina, S4R 1A6 would be appreciated.  In living memory of Freda, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home.
