MAE BATTY |

MRS. A. MAE BATTY of Moose Jaw passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Born at Killarney, Manitoba on December 3, 1915, Mae married Jack E. Batty in May of 1940. In July of 1947 they purchased their own grocery store in Moose Jaw known as Batty’s Fine Foods (corner of Hall and 3rd Avenue N.E.). After selling the store, Mae worked for many years with Evan’s Florist. Predeceased by her parents, and her husband Jack in 2002, she is survived by her caring son, Robert Samuel – Moose Jaw, and nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to join the family in sharing the memory of Mae’s life on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 1:30p.m. – 3p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St. E. Cremation will take place with memorialization in the family plot in Assiniboia. For those so wishing, memorials may be made to Mizpah Chapter of the Eastern Star. In living memory of Mae, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home. |
