HOWARD DOYLE |

It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden death of Howard William Doyle of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Howard passed away quietly on Monday June 14, 2010 at the age of 95. Howard was born on his father's homestead in Ernfold, Saskatchewan in 1915. Howard attended the Moose Jaw Normal School (Teacher's College) in 1935-36 and earned his degree in Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 1963. His teaching career of 42 years included elementary, high school and instructing at the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Moose Jaw. During his long career Howard taught in Vicars, Trewdale, Lacadena, Success, Parkbeg, Mawer, Brownlee, Davidson and Moose Jaw. In 1937 he married the love of his life Emma (nee Heiydt) and together they raised 5 sons. Howard also bought a small farm in Ernfold and built a cabin with his son Glen at Palliser Park. Howard enjoyed reading, gardening, baseball, curling and golf. With his family he saw the majority of Canada and the United States. Howard also travelled to Europe and Hawaii. Howard was predeceased by his wife Emma (2002), his son Allan (1973), daughter-in-law, Patricia (Dwight) in 2009, sister, Alice Moser, and two brothers: Joe Doyle and Harold Doyle. Howard is survived his sons: Paul (Doreen) - Regina, Glen (Loretta) - Calgary, Dwight - Saskatoon and Bernie (Lynn Allardyce) - Saskatoon; grandchildren: Darcy, Delaine, Carole, Dean, Brent, Gwen, Denise, Sarah, Scott, Kevin, and Kara; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 1064 3rd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw on Friday June 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Father Louis Kim Nguyen will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date. A Prayer Service will be held Thursday evening at 7p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be directed to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 – 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8 or to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, 204 – 3775 Pasqua St., Regina, S4S 9Z9. In living memory of Howard, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. |

Uncle Howard gave me plums from his tree several years ago and now as Roy and I move to Moose Jaw we will plant a plum tree in our yard and will think of Uncle Howard and Aunt Emma . It has been my pleasure and honour to have known Howard for so many years. He was one fine man and I am glad our paths crossed on many occasions even having lived far apart. Love to all. They wrote to each other for decades. Please feel free to contact me about the family tree. Lois Bernie Doyle - Saskatoon, SK: On behalf of the family, I wish to thank you for your kind thoughts and words. Our Dad lived a long and happy life. He lived at home, and enjoyed good health until his last day. We should all be so fortunate. He loved my mother, his family, his friends and students. He enjoyed life and always looked for "the good in people". |
